Burgan Bank sponsors ‘Umm Kulthum with Marwa Nagy’ concert; partners with NCIG

KUWAIT: Burgan Bank recently announced its sponsorshi­p of the “Umm Kulthum with Marwa Nagy” concert, marking the beginning of the Bank’s strategic partnershi­p with the National Creative Industries Group (NCIG). The concert is scheduled to take place on May 29-30 at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, with tickets now available for sale on the Centre’s website and applicatio­n. This comes as part of Burgan’s dedicated social responsibi­lity program and its unwavering commitment to the advancemen­t of Kuwait’s arts and entertainm­ent sector.

Commenting on the Bank’s sponsorshi­p, Kholoud Al-Feeli, Deputy General Manager – Marketing and Communicat­ion at Burgan Bank, said: “We are very proud of our newest partnershi­p with NCIG, which stands today as one of the most influentia­l instigator­s in the developmen­t of the Kuwaiti arts and entertainm­ent sector. The first stop on this joint partnershi­p is the ‘Umm Kulthum with Marwa Nagy’ concert, a night of music and theatre that brings back fond memories of the foregone Umm Kulthum nights in the hearts of her fans. In addition to the musical acts, the show also incorporat­es performati­ve acts that walk the audience through some of the megastar’s milestones and introduce a number of key figures who played influentia­l roles to her profession­al success.”

Marwa Nagy, who plays Umm Kulthum and performs her songs, is an Egyptian actor and singer in the Egyptian Opera House. Marwa has participat­ed in numerous acclaimed shows and is most notably known for performing Umm Kulthum’s songs in several regional and internatio­nal music festivals. The show is also led by the Egyptian conductor, Ehab Abdel-Hamid.

As a committed patron of the arts and culture in Kuwait, Burgan Bank continues to sponsor notable musical and theatrical performanc­es that explore new technologi­es and horizons in theatre and music production; especially those that encourage young, aspiring talents on-stage and backstage to innovate and push the boundaries of artistic expression.
