Byrne bags double as Sky Blues beat Camolin

Youths Premier Division

A first-half double from Logan Byrne helped North End United to a winning start in the Youths Premier Division away to Camolin Celtic on Saturday.

Troy Sinnott got on the scoresheet for the Sky Blues midway through the second period to wrap up a 3-0 success.

Jack Walsh scored twice after the interval to earn New Ross Town a 2-1 triumph over Forth Celtic at Matt Ennis Park.

Thomas Devereux opened the scoring for the hosts with just five minutes on the clock.

Youths Division 1

Rosslare Strand got three points on the board in their opening fixture in Youths Division 1 as they edged out Kilmore United by the odd goal in seven on Saturday.

Pierce Murphy bagged a double for the winners, while Peter Redmond and Ailbe Kitts added to their tally. Ruairí Moore (two) and Josh Philips replied.

Elsewhere, Glynn Barntown saw off Wexford Celtic 3-0 at Wexford Racecourse. William Martin opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, while Ryan White and Rian Bracken scored late in the second-half to seal the deal.

Youths Division 2

Campile United began their Youths Division 2 campaign with a win as they overcame local rivals New Ross Celtic 5-2 on Saturday.

Shane Russell, Darragh Bowe, Oisín Mullally (two) and Nathan Quinn scored for the winners, while Aaron Hattersley and Daniel Stepanek netted for the Barrowside­rs.

An Oisín Kavanagh double and an Austin Mooney goal in the final half an hour earned Cushinstow­n a 3-1 win over Corach Ramblers in Danescastl­e. Emmet Ralph had given the hosts the lead midway through the first-half.

Youths Division 3

Ferns United made a positive start to the season as they saw off Gorey Celtic 4-2 in Clone on Saturday.

Rhys Meegan (two), Killian Plummer and Max Kehoe scored for the home side, while Peter Murphy and Ethan Goodwin netted for Celtic.

Courtown Hibs also collected three points with a 3-2 win over St. Cormac’s at Ounavarra Park. Nick Marcenko, Rhys Tyndall and Cadan Mackay got on the scoresheet for the hosts, with Leon Doran and Abram O’Neill replying.

Tombrack United and Castledock­rell Newpark United shared the spoils after a 3-3 draw.

Adam O’Connell-Byrne, Conor Doyle and Conor Byrne got the goals for Tombrack, with Oisín Devereux, Aengus Tierney and Tomás Tyrell replying.

Youths Division 4

Eoghan Crosbie, Adam Southall (two) and Reuben Dempsey got the goals for Enniscorth­y Town as they began the season with a 4-1 win over Curracloe United in the River Field on Saturday. Cillian Murphy scored for the seasiders.

Killenagh Wanderers won 4-2 away to Oylegate United, with Nathan Byrne, Rhys Moore-Kavanagh, Miguel Guedes and Adam Farrell getting their goals. Finn Soraine and Tadg Brophy scored for Oylegate.

Meanwhile, an Erik Johannes Mellander goal was enough for St. Joseph’s to win on the road against Bree United.

Youths Division 5

Adam Codd bagged a hat-trick for North End United as they beat Forth Celtic 7-2 in Hollygrove on Saturday. Cormac O’Leary, Jack O’Neill and Ahmed Hassan got the other goals for the hosts, with Pádraig Gair and Eoin Bates replying.

Killenagh Wanderers saw off Ajax Athletic 6-2 at Patrick Mernagh Park. Joe Dunne, Giovanni Doyle, Oisín Moran, Kevin Redmond and David Kilroy (two) scored for the visitors, while Luke Foran and Zach Farrell netted for the Enniscorth­y outfit.
