BALLYCULLANE TINTERN REVIEW

This year’s Tintern Review will be hitting the shelves in local shops this week. At €8 it represents great value in these inflationary times so pick up a copy as soon as you see it as it generally sells out quickly.

GAA ACTION

Hard luck to our U21 footballers who were beaten by Rosslare last week and also to our junior footballers who travelled to Castletown but came home empty handed in the championship group game at the weekend.

Well done to our senior footballers however who made it three out of three in the championship when they defeated HWH Bunclody last Friday. Two long balls in to the square resulted in goals from Ciaran Conway and Gavin Sheehan and these proved the difference in the end. Attention turns to hurling this weekend when we take on Blackwater on Sunday.

LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner in the Tintern Lotto last week when the numbers drawn were 4, 5, 15 and 22. The match three winner was Chris Walsh of Ballycullane who collects €200. This week’s jackpot stands at €5200.

DEEPEST SYMPATHIES

To the Mullins family from Garryrichard in Foulksmills we offer our sincere and deepest sympathies on the recent passing of Ann, mother of Charlie, daughter of Eric and the late Una. Ann was also the cherished sister of Brenda, Sandra, Rene, Paul, Jacinta and Kevin.

Ann had a great love of both horses and motor bikes, so was always at her ease while off the ground and travelling about. In reality, Ann was a lot more grounded than most as she was such a warm and welcoming person who had worked in Wallace’s for around 20 years. Whether you were a local or someone from further a field, young or old, she always had time to have a chat and a laugh, no matter who or where – a heart of gold who will be so sadly missed by, not alone her family, but her huge circle of friends from both far and near.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and may Ann’s kind and gentle soul truly rest in peace.
