We would like to thank the following for their very kind donation of raffle prizes towards the cost of work undertaken in our locality: Marion Marshall, Pebble Art by Verna, Mountainga­te Crafts, Bannow Bay Seaside Farm.

Thank you again to all who came along to support the initiative, to the stallholde­rs, to our Bannow/Ballymitty GAA Club who served refreshmen­ts, Danescastl­e Music Group for playing such enjoyable music, Jennifer Jenny Barry for a wonderful ‘Get Growing’ demonstrat­ion and to Carrig-on-Bannow Community Centre for providing an excellent venue for our Farmers’ Market.

A final note of thanks to the Chairperso­n of Rosslare Municipal District, Wexford County Council Councillor Jim Codd for attending this community initiative.

GRANTSTOWN NEWS

ROSARY CONSCIOUS GROUP – The Annual Rosary Conscious Group will be meeting in Grantstown on Sunday 18th August at the Grotto to say the Rosary at a time to be confirmed. Everyone is invited to attend and join in the prayers. Barry Hyland will be travelling from Cork to lead this annual Rosary.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Have you 2 or 3 hours to spare any day of the week? Would you like to volunteer in Grantstown Daycare Centre in any of the following areas? Kitchen, Dining Room, Daycare, Dementia Café, Horticultu­re or Meals on Wheels. Free training included. Please contact Paul Carey on 051 561016.

MEALS ON WHEELS – Would you like to have Delicious and Nutritious meals delivered to your door? Grantstown Daycare Centre operates a Meals on Wheels service every Tuesday & Thursday for a small fee. Why not give us a call on 051 561016 for more details.

Dancing continues in Carrig on Bannow community centre this Friday 16th August with music by Adrian Ryan, Friday 23rd with Colm Bourke, and Friday 30th with Pat Daly. All welcome 9pm start refreshmen­ts served.

A monster bingo will be held in the GAA grounds Grantstown on Sunday 25th August at 2pm with over €3,000 in prizes. You can drive in or sit in so come along and enjoy the crack. Single book €15 Double €20.

PATRON DATES

Bannow cemetery: August 15th. Mass in Carrig church at 6pm followed by the blessing of the graves in Bannow at 7pm. Shaemogues cemetery: August 18th at 7pm.

CARRIG COMMUNITY CENTRE

Yoga every Monday evening at 7.30pm and Thursday morning at 9.30am just come along and enjoy, pay as you go.

Bridge is played every Tuesday night.

Slimming World every Wednesday 5.30 till 7.30pm–all welcome.

Dance Fit every Thursday night. Dance Fit Class will start at 7p.m. and Jive classes will start at 8.15pm No partner required, lots of fun, plenty of exercise and fun. Pay as you go.

Social Dancing on Friday nights. Music by Adrian Ryan Dance Band on Friday 16th.

Bingo every Saturday night from 8pm all welcome.
