AN absolutely fantastic day was had at the Rathgarogue annual field day, as the sun shone and games and great entertainment were enjoyed.

The sun was shining all day on Scoil Naomh Áine as the organisers welcomed hundreds of guests from the local community and beyond.

The organising committee wish to sincerely thank everyone for attending.

“A day like this does not come about overnight, and huge credit is due to all the volunteers who helped with setting up, manned stalls, tidied up afterwards, Ms. O’Neill and the board of management of Scoil Naomh Áine, our wonderful Chef Mr Willie Rochford, our dog show hosts Máirín Jackson, Margo Murphy and judge Barty Kennedy, Garda Kevin Burke, Scouting Ireland and Wexford Scouting, Sinéad & Adrian Finn for organising the annual tug of war competition, Francis O’Brien and Tomás Murphy from Official Page of Rathgarogue Cushinstown GAA Club for organising the U6 hurling blitz, to the visiting teams of The Rower Inistioge GAA, St Brigid’s Blackwater and St. Mullins Juvenile GAA and to Jamie and Ollie Moran for marking out the pitches in the morning. Thank you also to Barry Murphy for allowing the use of his field for parking.”

The organising team were overwhelmed by the generosity of the local businesses in preparation for the event and say they really appreciate their support. All funds raised from the field day will go directly towards the community sensory garden, playground and GIY area.

“We look forward to delivering these amenities, as when in place, they will benefit people of all ages and abilities in the wider community.”
