TWO MEN IN 50s SUSPECTED OF ENDANGERMENT
GARDAI are planning to make at least one more arrest over their probe into the Creeslough disaster, it has emerged.
Sources last night told us another person of interest has emerged in the probe – as detectives continued to quiz two men.
The men, in their 50s, were arrested in Co Donegal yesterday and were being held on suspicion of endangerment in relation to the October 2022 blast that killed 10 people.
Sources have told us the pair are being investigated on suspicion of endangerment, which carries a jail sentence of up to seven years if convicted.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris yesterday confirmed that gardai investigating the disaster were working to prepare a file for the Director of Public
Prosecutions – who would then decide if anyone should face court over the explosion.
Locals in Creeslough were still in shock last night after the arrests.
Stations
The pair were still being quizzed by detectives in separate local Garda stations last night.
The arrests came just hours after a plan was unveiled in a bid to breathe new life into the village following a huge explosion at the local Applegreen Service Station on a busy Friday afternoon on October 7, 2022.
The two men are being held at separate Garda stations in Donegal for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
The men are being detained under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal
HEAVILY-ARMED masked gunmen burst into a famous Moscow concert hall yesterday killing at least 40 and leaving dozens injured.
It is believed as many as five mystery gunmen opened fire on a crowd of around 100, many of whom were trapped in the complex.
Some of the attackers were filmed as they left the building, opening fire and executing a number of victims at near pointblank range.
The cold-blooded attackers, wearing combat fatigues, hit the Crocus City Hall, a large concert venue on the western edge of the capital.
Blast
A large blast was also heard, as well as assault rifles being fired.
State news agency RIA said at least three people were involved in the attack but later that number was increased to five.
It was also reported that a mall nearby was set on fire and plumes of black smoke were rising above the venue.
Some of the crowd are believed to have fled to a basement to seek refuge.
But it is feared others may have been cut off on the fourth floor.
Justice Act 1984 and can be held for a maximum period of 24 hours after their arrests yesterday morning.
They are the first arrests in the exhaustive investigation involving a number of agencies, including local officers supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Health and Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities.
