Ros: I Missed out all the hard work
Model did no prep for 2003 win
ROSANNA Davison has joked she didn’t do any preparation for Miss World the year she won the competition.
The beauty queen, 39, took the crown back in 2003 and speaking ahead of the finals this Sunday in India, where she is supporting Dr Ivanna Mcmahon, she recalled how she did very little prep before the contest.
She said laughing: “Even 20 years ago when I was doing it, the girls were training.
“I just went into it. Lisa Fitzpatrick kindly came over to my house the week before and kindly helped me put my outfits together with all the accessories. That’s all I did.”
Mum-of-three Rosanna told us she is rooting for Dr Mcmahon, adding: “It’s so competitive. I am following it as much as I can and she seems to have done really well in the talent section.
“She plays the harp. She’s such an all rounder, she is amazing. I think whatever happens, I think she will really embrace the whole experience and really enjoy it. She’s doing us proud representing Ireland as well. It’s so hard to know these things when you’re not in them anymore.”
Speaking from India this week, Dr Mcmahon opened up about her Miss World journey ahead of the finals.
The 28-year-old Clare woman told us: “I was delighted to bring the harp to the world stage and perform my own arrangement of Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine.
“I have had an amazing experience meeting all the 112 other contestants that are on this Miss World journey with me in India.
“I have really enjoyed learning about the different cultures, languages and traditions we all have and sharing our Irish music, culture and language with the other women here.”
