Music fans rock out at OUTRAGE festival

- By RACHEL CAHILL

ENNISCORTHY music lovers ‘raised the roof ’ of the Presentation Arts Centre during the rock and grunge OUTRAGE festival last weekend.

Sixteen bands over two days tore up the chapel stage in a brand new music festival by the good folks over at Outrage Entertainment, to celebrate the rising stars of the blossoming punk, metal and rock scene from Enniscorthy and beyond.

Outrage Entertainment is a wexford-based organisation that organise rock and grunge music events around the county, harnessing the unbridled talent that is flourishing in the genre on home turf.

The demand for tickets in the lead up to the show resulted in a second wave of tickets to go on sale.

The participating bands included; Sickened, Dead Memories, Brand New Dead Things, Death Can Wait, R.P.C, 12 Gauge Outrage, Toofarfetched, Psykosis, The Donnys, The Ovarlords, T.O.K., Irate Yeats, Absenth, Low Ground, and BARMP.

Absenth is a dynamic all-femal four-piece alternative rock band from Enniscorthy. Comprised of a group of fiercely talented 17-18 year olds, they share a collective mission to electrify audiences with their powerful sound and inspire more female musicians to enter the rock band scene in Ireland.

The bands had a great time performing at the free gig with the ban Dead Memories calling it an “unforgettable show.” This sentiment was shared by Brand New Dead Things who immensely enjoyed collaborating with other artists.

“Huge thanks to everyone at Outrage Entertainment for having us down- around Enniscorthy on Saturday and a shoutout to all the other bands for making the floor shake,” they said.
