country, he said, “There are so many products of India which are in great demand all over the world and when we see a local product of India going global, it is natural to feel proud. One such product is Araku coffee.”

The Araku coffee is produced in Andhra Pradesh, where the Telugu Desam Party, led by Chief Minister Chandrabab­u Naidu, came to power in the recent Assembly polls. With 16 MPS, TDP is the NDA’S largest member after BJP.

Endorsing Araku, the PM said: “This coffee is amazing! Araku coffee has received many global awards. The coffee was also a hit at the G20 Summit held in Delhi. Whenever you get a chance, you must enjoy Araku coffee.”

Jammu and Kashmir is also not lagging behind in making local products global, Modi said. “What Jammu and Kashmir has achieved last month is an example for people across the country. The first consignmen­t of snow peas was sent to London from Pulwama,” he said, adding this success opened new doors for prosperity of the people in the UT.

Lauding the efforts of the women’s collective Vattalakki Cooperativ­e Farming Society, under whose supervisio­n tribal women in Kerala’s Attappadi make the ‘Karthumbi Umbrella’, Modi said, “Today, the demand for these umbrellas is rising across the country. They are also being sold online.”

The PM also cheered for the Indian athletes participat­ing in the coming Paris Olympics. Saying that “memories of the Tokyo Olympics are still fresh in our minds”, he urged the people to encourage the Paris Olympics athletes with the hashtag ‘Cheer4bhar­at’.

In his address, the PM also spoke about the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched by the Centre on World Environmen­t Day this year, saying he was happy to see it progressin­g rapidly.

“A mother nurtures her child even after undergoing all kinds of hardships… This love is like a debt on all of us, which no one can repay. I was thinking, we can’t give anything to our mother, but can we do something else,” he said, calling upon people across the world to plant a tree along with their mothers or “in their names”.

On the Amrit Mahotsav programme for water conservati­on, he said more than 60,000 Amrit Sarovars or ponds were created across the country since the scheme was launched in April 2022.

Modi congratula­ted the All India Radio on its Sanskrit bulletin completing 50 years. He said the language has played a big role in the progress of Indian knowledge and science.

“The demand of today's times is that we should respect Sanskrit and also connect it with our daily life,” he said, noting that locals at a Bengaluru park meet every Sunday to converse in the language.

On the occasion of ‘Hul Diwas’ (June 30) in Jharkhand, marking the anniversar­y of the 1855 Santhal rebellion, Modi said it was a significan­t day which witnessed the bravery of the Santhali tribe in the freedom struggle.

“The British committed many atrocities on our Santhal brothers and sisters, and also imposed many types of restrictio­ns on them. Veer Sidhu and Kanhu attained martyrdom while displaying amazing bravery in this struggle... The supreme sacrifice of these immortal sons of the land of Jharkhand inspires the countrymen even today,” Modi said.

The PM also mentioned that Turkmenist­an celebrated the 300th birth anniversar­y of its national poet in May this year. On this occasion, the country unveiled statues of 24 famous poets from around the world, including one of Rabindrana­th Tagore. “This is an honour for Gurudev, an honour for India," he said.

Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of Bjp-ruled states were among those who listened to the address and shared videos and photos on social media.

In a post on X, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said “the Mann Ki Baat' programme always inspires us to move forward on the path of public service with new energy”.

MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the country “has got new energy and direction due to the powerful speech” of the PM.

Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma shared pictures of a gathering to listen to the PM’S address at his official residence. The PM’S address, he wrote on X, “reflected the aspiration­s of rural areas, desires of low-income groups, hard work of the farming community, hopes of the working class and determinat­ion of businessme­n.”
