Farmers focus, will make Bharat bulwark against terrorism: Shah
Pralhad Joshi, Shivraj Chouhan, C R Paatil, Lalan Singh also join their offices
THE GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED to bringing positive change in the lives of those associated with cooperatives by providing them new opportunities, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said as he took charge Tuesday.
Shah, who has been allocated the two Ministries for the second consecutive term, also said the new Government will take its efforts for India's security to the next level and build “Bharat as a bulwark against terrorism, insurgency and Naxalism”.
“The Ministry of Cooperation will continue to work towards strengthening the country' s economyalong with the rural economy by empowering the farmers as per Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s vision of 'Sahkaar Se Samriddhi'. Our government is committed to bring positive change in the lives of cr or es of people associated with this sector by giving new opportunities to them while empowering the idea of cooperation…,” shah posted onx after assuming charge as the Minister of Cooperation at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan.
In another post on X, he wrote: “Under the stewardship of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, I reassumed charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs today. The MHA will remain committed to the security of the nation and its people, as it always has been. Modi 3.0 will take its efforts for India's security to the next level and build Bharat as a bulwark against terrorism, insurgency, and naxalism.”
Meanwhile, at Krishi Bhawan, Pralhad Joshi officially took over as the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution from Piyush Goyal in presence of Ministers of State BL Verma and Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya. Also present were Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution; and Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.
“I am grateful that the Honourable Prime Minister has given me the opportunity to serve in this Ministry that is directly related to serving 80 crore Indians,” Joshi said, adding that his priority will be to implement activities identified by Goyal, in the first 100 days of the government.
Tuesday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also assumed charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and the Ministry of Rural Development. Minister of State for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan, also assumed charge, as did MOS Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Bhagirath Choudhary.
At Shram Sh aktiBh aw an, former Gujarat BJP chief CR Paatil took over as the Union Minister for Jal Shakti.
Animal Husbandry Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and his deputy SP Singh Baghel also assumed their respective charges.
