Jagan calls Naidu, Pawan ‘nonlocals’, accuses them of disturbing A.P. govt.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has appealed to the people to ensure the defeat of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)Jana Sena Party ( JSP) combine in the forthcoming elections, saying that as both parties were headed by ‘nonlocal leaders’ such as N. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.
Unable to “digest the good deeds done by the YSRCP government”, Mr. Naidu and Mr. Pawan Kalyan were trying to disturb the State administration, said the Chief Minister while addressing a gathering, after inaugurating the ‘YSR Sujaladhara’ scheme near Kanchili and a multispecialty hospitalcumkidney research centre in Palasa on December 14 (Thursday).
The government has spent around ₹700 crore on the ‘YSR Sujaladhara’ project to ensure the supply of safe drinking water to the villages in seven mandals under the purview of the Uddanam region which is known for the high prevalence of chronic kidney diseases (CKD).
Several studies have cited the contamination of groundwater as one of the reasons for the high prevalence of renal ailments in Uddanam region.
Constructed at a cost of around ₹200 crore, the research centrecumhospital in Palasa would kidney patients get treatment.
Addressing a public meeting at Palasa railway grounds, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy termed both Mr. Naidu and Mr. Pawan Kalyan [who he referred to as package star] as ‘cancer cells’ which needed to be removed in the next elections.
“Both the Opposition leaders live in Hyderabad and come often to Andhra Pradesh to disturb the administration here. People help free should not allow them to intrude in the affairs of the State as they have no concern for people of Andhra Pradesh,” Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
Referring to the government’s decision to set up the Chief Minister’s camp office in Visakhapatnam, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “They (Mr. Naidu and Mr. Pawan Kalyan) cannot dictate terms regarding the location of the Chief Minister’s Office. It is our (government’s) prerogative. Both the leaders, who have done nothing for Andhra Pradesh should stop polluting minds [of people] with their hate speeches against the YSRCP government,” he said.
He said that Andhra Pradesh had witnessed remarkable growth in the last four years and assured development of the North Andhra region with the speedy construction of Bhogapuram International Airport and Mulapeta seaport.
