Chirag spurns uncle’s campaign offer, reminds him of his ‘offensive’ attitude

- URKKHAT CVMAH NPatna

LJP (R) chief and MP Chirag Paswan has turned down his uncle and former union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras`s offer to campaign for him in Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency and instead reminded the latter of his ‘hostile’ approach towards him following his father Ram Vilas Paswan`s death.

When mediapersons asked Chirag about Paras offering support to him in Hajipur seat, Chirag shot back and said that he had moved ahead of all these things.

“My target is to ensure NDA`s victory on all 40 seats of the state and also make it certain that NDA crosses 400mark in Lok Sabha election. I have to complete the unfinished work of my father. My goal is ‘Bihar First Bihari First’ and I am moving forward in this direction,” LJP (R) chief remarked.

“My uncle had decided to stop giving his blessing to me and also thrown me out of my house and separated me from my family. Had he behaved with me similarly if I would have been his own son,” he remarked.

Paras has already announced that he would extend his party`s support to NDA candidates on all 40 seats.

Chirag by rejecting Paras`s offer to campaign for him in the constituency has also given a veiled message to his uncle that his father Paswan`s legacy and his strong bond with Hajipur are sufficient and his any kind of support is not required, remarked an LJP (R) leader. By declining the offer, he also makes it clear that he is the sole inheritor of his father`s political legacy. Earlier, Paras had claimed that he was the political heir of his brother Paswan as Chirag would only inherit property.

Chirag` s remarks on Paras, who is also the president of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), virtually eliminates the chance of any rapprochement between them at least in near future. With BJP fully realising that Chirag commands support of the majority of Paswan votes, the party is also not that much concerned whether LJP (R) chief really buries the hatchet with his uncle, remarked a senior BJP leader.
