A fresh petition has been filed in an Agra court in Uttar Pradesh seeking the Taj Mahalto be declared as a Hindu temple, Tejo Mahalaya.

The petition, filed on Wednesday, has called for a halt to all Islamic activities and any other practices not suitable for a place of worship. The matter is scheduled to be heard on April 9.

Advocate Ajay Pratap Singh has filed the suit as the patron of Shree Bhagwan Shree Tejo Mahadev and as the president of Yogeshwar Shree Krishna Janmasthan Sewa Sangh Trust and Kshatriya Shaktipeet­h Vikas Trust.

Repeatedly, several petitions been filed demanding the declaratio­n of the Taj Mahal as the Shiva temple.

Delhi High Court orders inclusion of accessibil­ity features in cinema NEW DELHI:

The Delhi High Court directed the Union Ministry of Informatio­n and Broadcasti­ng (MIB) to finalise and publicise guidelines by July 15, ensuring that films are more accessible to visually and hearing-impaired individual­s. Justice Prathiba M. Singh was hearing a petition filed last year for accessible captions in the film 'Jawan'. The court noted that accessibil­ity is not just a legal right but also a necessity, and private entities must ensure reasonable accommodat­ion to improve accessibil­ity for visually and hearing-impaired individual­s.

HC directs Delhi govt to address PIL for seamless Wi-Fi in district courts NEW DELHI:

A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora of the Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the city government to address a PIL, regarding the provision of seamless Wi-Fi access in all district courts across the national capital, within eight weeks. The court noted that the petitioner, lawyer Arpit Bhargava, had bypassed the procedure of making a representa­tion to the Delhi government and directly approached the court.

Notice to ED on bail petition NEW DELHI:

The Delhi High court on Thursday issued notice to the Enforcemen­t Directorat­e on the bail plea of Daud Nasir, accused in Delhi Waqf Board money laundering case. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma directed the ED to file reply to the bail plea. The matter has been listed for hearing on May 16. The case pertains to a property in Okhla puchased for Rs. 36 crore out of which Rs. 27 crores were paid in cash. This money is alleged to be ill-gotten.

Five get life for 2007 murder BALLIA:

Five people were sentenced to life imprisonme­nt in a 2007 murder case. Additional Sessions Judge Hussain Ahmad Ansari also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on each of the convicts -- Shriram, Sada Vriksh, Ravindra, Ram Narain and Haridwar. SP Dev Ranjan Verma said that the convicts had killed Indrajeet on July 15, 2007, in Bibhita Bhuvari village, which falls under the Ubhaon police station.
