Likely to counter BJP’s ‘Labharthi’ factor

Bihar’s grand alliance government has accelerated the pace of its recruitment drive ahead of Lok Sabha election by appointing over two lakh teachers and increasing honourarium of workers, likely to help it counter BJP’s ‘Labharthi’ factor in the election.

PHOTOGRAPH MISSING

It is another matter that RJD is perturbed over the photograph of deputy chief minister and party leader Tejashwi Yadav missing from the poster erected on Saturday to mark the recruitment of nearly a lakh teachers. Only the photograph of chief minister Nitish was in the poster.

Bihar RJD chief spokesperson Shakti Yadav said that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar was only implementing Tejashwi’s resolve to give five lakh government jobs to the youth and also create equal number of jobs for them. He contended Bihar had a golden period during the grand alliance government as 2.17 lakh teachers had been appointed in only 70 days.

JOB CHALLENGE

“I challenge BJP to have a debate with the grand alliance on jobs. The Narendra Modi government could give nearly 7 lakh jobs only in 10 years,” he added. In the 2020 Bihar assembly election, Tejashwi had promised that it would give 10 lakh permanent government jobs but his party failed to form a government. After the formation of the grand alliance government in the state, both Nitish and Tejashwi gave special thrust to giving jobs to the youth.

In the first phase, the state government appointed 1.22 lakh teachers in Nov last year. It gave status of government employees to 3.68 lakh contractual teachers.

BJP MP Sushil Kumar Modi said the drive was misleading and asked the state government to issue a white paper on new appointments.
