₹1,850 crore spent on Ram temple’s construction till now
: The Board of Trustees of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Thursday presented its expenditure and income report for 2023-24, disclosing that ₹776 crore was spent on the ongoing construction work of the temple in the last financial year.
The details were presented during the day-long meeting at the Mani Ram Das Chhavni in Ayodhya, which was presided over by chairman of the Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee Nripendra Mishra was also present.
During the meeting, the Trust said that out of the ₹776 crore spent in the last fiscal, ₹540 crore was spent on the temple’s construction and ₹136 crore on other temple-related work.
According to the board, the Trust has spent around ₹1,850
crore on the temple’s construction so far over the last four years.
The general secretary of the Trust, Champat Rai, said that the Trust has estimated an expenditure of ₹850 crore on temple’s construction and other related expenses in the ongoing financial year.
The board said that the Trust earned ₹363.34 crore in the last fiscal. Of this, ₹204 crore was earned as bank interest and ₹58 crore in the cash and cheques received at the Ayodhya office.
The Trust also received ₹24.50 crore cash in the donation boxes at the temple. The amount was later deposited in the Trust’s bank account in Ayodhya.
Besides, the Trust has received ₹10.43 crore through donations from NRIs in its FCRA bank account.
The Trust has also handed over 900kg silver and 20kg gold to the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India. It will be tested at the SPMC’s Hyderabad office in September this year.
The Ram Temple was consecrated on January 22 this year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi had performed the “bhoomi pujan” for the construction of the temple on August 5, 2020, after the Supreme Court on November 9, 2019 paved the way for the temple in Ayodhya.
