Fresh plea to transfer suit related to Gyanvapi to Varanasi district court

A fresh plea was filed in the Varanasi district court, seeking transfer of the suit titled Ancient Idol Swayambhu Lord Vishweshwa­r and others Vs Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee and others to the district court from the court of civil judge (senior division), Varanasi. The court fixed August 17 as next date of hearing .

On behalf of four Hindu women plaintiffs, including Rekha Pathak, Manjoo Vyas, Lakshmi Devi and Sita Sahoo, their advocates Vishnu Shankar Jain, Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi and Sudhir Tripathi filed the plea in the court of district judge Sanjiv Pandey. The four women are plaintiffs of the suit titled Rakhi Singh and others vs State of U.P. and others, the Shringar Gauri-Gyanvapi case, seeking permission of daily worship at Maa Shringar Gauri Sthal in Gyanvapi complex.

Jain said that the plea had been filed in the district court, seeking an order to transfer the suit Ancient Idol Swayambhu Lord Vishweshwa­r and others Vs Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee and others to the district court from the fast track court of civil judge (senior division ), Varanasi.

Presently the hearing of this case is going on in the court of civil judge (senior division fast track court).

Jain said that several cases related to Gyanvapi were being heard in the court of the district judge. The nature of all the cases was the same, so the suit Ancient Idol Swayambhu Lord Vishweshwa­r and others Vs Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee and others should be transferre­d to the district court from the court of civil judge (senior division), Varanasi.
