TN invites ideas from students for CM’s res grant
Selected projects will be implemented for improving the socio-economic conditions
CHENNAI: The Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) invites project proposals from the students for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister research grant programme for 2024-25.
As part of this programme, the selected projects will be converted into a patent, a product, or an industrial application or will be used in bringing in changes in socio-economic conditions.
A notification from the DOTE said on Thursday that projects that aim to provide problem-oriented solutions and projects that can be implemented in short duration will be preferred for the scheme. Accordingly, the DOTE notification emphasised that the objective of the project proposals should be focused on a few specific outputs which could be achieved in a duration of a maximum of 36 months.
The broad category of eligible subject areas will be Aerospace Engineering, Biological
Sciences and Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Earth, Atmosphere, and Ocean Sciences. Electrical, Electronics and Communication, according to the DOTE notification. The subjects as such Engineering, Environment, Ecology and Disaster Management, Food and Agricultural Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Material Science and Nanotechnology, Mathematical Science, Medical Science, Physical Science, Social Science, Textile Engineering, Veterinary, and Fishery Science are also included, said the DOTE notification.
The research grant is open to all the government higher educational institutions and the government universities functioning under the higher education department of the State.
