Singapore ranks second highest in the world in terms of registered golfers per course according to an R&A report. And of the 30% increase in numbers since the pandemic, many are new and younger golfers who have discovered the joy of the game. Golf, unfortunately, is becoming more challenging to play with the increasingly limited number of local courses available. Golfing and membership fees are likely to rise as well.

WHAT IS A NEW GOLFER TO DO?

The answer lies with My Golf Kaki.

With 7,000 members, My Golf Kaki (MGK), Singapore’s largest estateless golf club makes golf more accessible to everyone and believes in ‘Golf For All, Golf For Good’.

This trusted and leading golf community is dedicated to making golf affordable to all and at the best value - membership is open to everyone from as low as $80 (conditions apply) and includes golf insurance and the maintenance of a handicap index.

Providing a comprehensive range of one-stop services for all golfing needs, both new and seasoned golfers can experience, play and engage in the game of golf through beginner-friendly learning programmes at MGK Academy, enhanced access to local and overseas golf courses with concessionary green fees, and more than 50 curated events and activities annually such as MGK Golf 6, local social golf, overseas golf trips, clinics and workshops.

A new signature event, MGK Golf 6 is gaining popularity due to its shorter six-hole format, ideal for beginners, busy working professionals, youths and seniors. In the pipeline is a Drive, Chip & Putt Skills Challenge, all to foster strong camaraderie amongst the golfing community through engaging shared experiences. To stay in the know, MGK’S new Telegram channel is constantly updated with the latest events and ho how to sign up. MGK mem members also enjoy equipm equipment and apparel dea deals with partners su such as MST Golf a and Onegolf Singapore.

According to Mr Emmanuel Lem, Director of Golf Development, NTUC Club and G General Manager, Or Orchid Country Club Club, MGK aims to make golf as inclusive as possib possible: “Currently, only 5% of al all registered golfers in Singapore are juniors. To make golf inclusive for juniors, MGK will partner the Singapore Golf Association to bring golf to schools and the heartlands.

“We also see an increase in the number of young adult golfers, who see the value of golf for health, social and networking purposes. MGK is working closely with our NTUC colleagues (Unions and workforce limbs) to

encourage and facilitate more PMES to learn and play golf.

“MGK believes that golf is a force for social good. In line with our tagline of ‘Golf for Good’, we are developing program programmes to make golf accessible to youth youths from lower-income families. Soon Soon, MGK will also organise golf ev events to help raise funds and g garner support for charitable organisations - and we welcome industry partners to join us in this cause.”
