Exciting showdowns set for Super Deans semi-finals across all grades

THE semi-Ɲnal Ɲxtures of the Vodafone Super Deans next weekend promises some exciting match-ups in all participat­ing grades.

In the under-14 category, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School will face Lelean Memorial School in the Ɲrst semi-Ɲnal while Ratu Kadavulevu School will meet Marist Brothers High School.

Three southern zone schools have made it through the U15 semis with Suva Grammar School taking on Queen Victoria School and Gospel High School facing Marist.

Eastern zone teams dominated the U16 grade with LMS meeting RKS and QVS battling SGS.

Ratu Navula College is the only western school in the U17 semis and they will be playing RKS.

In the other U17 semis, Marist will take on QVS.

Lami High School continues to pen history in the U19 grade, going on to face Ratu Navula in the semi-Ɲnals while Naitasiri Secondary School will play QVS.

The most anticipate­d U18 clash will see southern zone champs Nasinu battling Cuvu College and Ratu Navula taking on defending champion Queen Victoria School.

The semi-Ɲnals will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Medics

MEDICS were kept busy throughout the Vodafone Super Deans national quarter-finals. Around 2pm yesterday, they recorded six injuries with concussion being the most common case from all three grounds. The most critical one was a Natabua under-17 player that had to be lifted out on a stretcher in the match against Queen Victoria.

Food supply

FOOD ran out from the four stalls at the HFC Bank Stadium during the quarter-finals of the Vodafone Super Deans. When media personnel when to look for lunch after 2pm, they were informed by stall owners that BBQ, hotdogs and other food items had been sold out. Another stall owner had just started placing meat and chicken on the grill as people lined-up waiting to be served.
