Rts for Suva
The FMF Suva rugby head coach Solo Nute stood by his word when he included their Under-20 players in today’s INKK Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy challenge clash against holders Lautoka at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka. This was after injuries to Suva key players, which included captain, Enele Malele. Nute has named Suva and Fiji U20 rep Ponipate Tuberi at first-five eight in his Farebrother debut. “We can see that these players flourish and we believe in the system,” the former Suva prop said in an earlier interview. Nute has also included Suva players who were part of the Fiji men’s rugby sevens training squad. They are halfback Terio Tamani, centre Wira Welagi and Sakiusa Siqila.
Nute has told his players to trust in their system.
“We believe the players can manage their game time so that we can perform to our best on the field,” he said.
“We want to ask our supporters to pray for the team and to be at the ground when we play against Lautoka.” Meanwhile, the Fiji Pine Lautoka rugby side has kept core of the squad that upset Jack’s Nadi 16-10 last Saturday. Fijian Drua utility back Isikeli Rabitu is back at full-back with captain, Jona Sawailau at centre.
The match kicks-off at 3pm.
