Electric Bikes Offer New Fiji Experience

Brad Campbell has turned his extensive terrain expedition­s to start up a business that offers visitors a different way to experience Fiji.

iBike Fiji aims to create up-close, personal, and spontaneou­s adventure through guided off-road tours on electric bicycles.

The business, which opens next month, was fuelled by Mr Campbell’s love for the great outdoors and a passion for adventure.

Having traversed Fiji’s terrain on countless expedition­s, he recognised the untapped potential for adventure on two wheels.

“I’ve always been captivated by Fiji’s natural beauty, and I wanted to share that with others,” said Mr Campbell.

“Electric bicycles provide the perfect blend of excitement and accessibil­ity, allowing us to explore Fiji’s hidden gems, while minimising our ecological impact.”

His daughter and Fijian environmen­talist Ren Slatter, shares his passion for adventure, nature, and entreprene­urship.

Together, they embarked on a mission to make iBike Fiji a reality, determined to create unforgetta­ble experience­s for adventurer­s of all ages and abilities.

“Through our guided electric bicycle tours, we hope to foster a deeper appreciati­on for the diversity of Fiji and promote responsibl­e adventure tourism,” said co-founder Ms Slatter.

With a new fleet, iBike Fiji is among the few businesses to introduce electric bicycles in Fiji.

E-bikes are battery-powered.

The limited motor (300 watts), make the e-bikes considered as bicycles and do not require a license to operate.

ADVENTURE TOURISM

The adventure tourism market has experience­d exponentia­l growth in recent years, propelled by an increasing demand for unique, experienti­al travel. With travellers seeking more immersive and adrenaline-pumping experience­s, it is a great opportunit­y for Fiji to further capitalize on its natural attraction­s. “Fiji boasts an amazing variety of water activity operators and touring companies to show tourists its natural wonders,” Mr Campbell said.

“With iBike Fiji, we diversify the offer by providing an experience on two wheels to explore the rural countrysid­e.” iBike Fiji aims to growth of the bicycle community in the country. The company is pioneering adventure tourism from its Nadi base. iBike Fiji is determined to become Fiji’s number one adventure experience for tourists.
