Sole has stepped up another notch to give users the option to save and pay directly for utility bills.

Operators of the fintech app servicehave signed up Energy Fiji Limited to ensure customers budget for electricity use and pay bills on time through the Sole.

Sole’s 20,000-plus customers can benefit from the quick and easy payment service.

The Sole App is a financial budgeting tool that helps customers prudently manage finances and ensure the basic expenses of a family like paying utility bills are done on time.

The app is the gateway for them to pay their utility bills, purchase goods and services, transfer funds anywhere in Fiji and receive inward remittances from Fijians living overseas.

SOLE Limited founder and board chairman, Semi Tukana, said the move was expected to help rural areas and remote islands where the internet was accessible.

“It also ensures that families, home and abroad, sending money back home to pay bills can now be rest assured that their hard-earned money will be used to pay power bills.

“Gone are the days, when SOS requests from family are received because EFL will be or has been disconnected. Sole customers and their families can transfer funds directly to the EFL Buckets which will be locked and payable only to EFL”.

Payments through Sole will be receipted and emailed to both EFL and the customer.

“When a power bill is paid by a customer, EFL will receive an automatic email confirmation of the bill payment by that customer and simultaneously the customer will receive an email receipt of the bill payment confirmation,” Mr Tukana said. “This dual receipt service cuts out paper receipts and is immediate, removing any doubt that payment has been made.”

Chief executive officer Mereia Volavola said Sole did not want families to live without electricity supply.

“With Sole they can pay their bills on time,” she said.

Energy Fiji Limited is the second utility company to sign up with Sole.
