SA move for Wanderers stars

-

An international move is on the cards for two Manzini Wanderers foreign players.

Congolese pair Fabrice Mopina and Djo Etwe are on the verge of joining Motsepe Foundation side La Masia.

The two players started training with the Johannesburg-based side on Tuesday in a bid to secure a move in the next transfer window in January.

The duo has missed the ‘Weslians’ recent MTN Premier League matches including the 3-1 loss to Mbabane Swallows and 4-3 defeat to Illovo FC last Saturday. The player’s agent Alian Kibangula confirmed the news.

“The two players are with La Masia and we are confident that they will both win contracts with the team. We hope to get feedback from La Masia in due course for a way forward,” he said.

He further stated that the two players left due to the local giants’ failure to honour contractual obligations. Wanderers Management Committee (MC) Chairman Berger Nxumalo could not be reached for comment on the matter. The maroon and white ensemble also having three players in Siphamandla Dhlamini, Mancoba ‘Spider’ Maseko and Sihle Mkhonta have gone AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) ahead of the crunch clash against capital city giants

Mbabane Highlanders on Saturday afternoon at Mavuso Sports Centre.

The crowd pullers have beefed up their technical bench with the services of former Pirates coach Ikabort Masocha.

The Zimbabwean gaffer joined the crowd pullers as a co-coach to veteran mentor Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe together with physical trainer Percy Shongwe. Shongwe is on his third stint with the ‘Weslians’ having worked with the likes of Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe and the late Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati. Wanderers are currently perched at position 13 with six points after 11 matches.
