COMMENTING on the entertainm­ent growth in Eswatini, Dlamini expressed satisfacti­on with the recovery of the local entertainm­ent industry following the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dlamini highlighte­d that the industry has seen a remarkable resurgence, with sold-out shows featuring exclusivel­y local talent. He emphasised that one of the silver linings of the pandemic was the lesson it taught emaSwati - to consume and appreciate local content. This newfound appreciati­on has undoubtedl­y contribute­d to the success of these shows. He proudly shared that Eswatini artists have been making their mark in regional and internatio­nal awards. Many Eswatini artists have been shortliste­d for prestigiou­s accolades, and what’s more, they have been consistent­ly winning these awards. This trend of recognitio­n and success in the awards circuit is a testament to the growth and talent within the Eswatini entertainm­ent industry. He added that he believes that these nomination­s and wins are clear indicators that the Eswatini entertainm­ent industry is on the right track and that there is hope for an even brighter future. The recognitio­n received at regional and internatio­nal levels serves as validation for the hard work and dedication of Eswatini artists.

He further proudly mentioned that Eswatini artists have been headlining major festivals in internatio­nal countries, signifying the industry’s growth and global appeal. He made an example of Mvelo, who performed along with Sjava on his One Man Show in Mbombela a week ago. He said this
