Bringing affordability and community together:
The exciting updates at The Old Farm Market!
The Old Farm Market is back with exciting updates (we love having exciting updates)!
Earlier this year, we launched our new campaign, “Not Corporate. Not Complicated” to put an emphasis on our strength as a local independent and highlight all the advantages of not being tied to a corporation. Our focus has been on providing great produce at the lowest prices, and we stand by our prices with our weekly competition price-check to make sure we are the best place to buy produce.
With our focus on affordability, we saw an opportunity to partner with local businesses and farmers to further expand this commitment by making supporting local something that doesn’t break the bank. Introducing: Home Grown Local – Know Where Your Food Comes From. This new campaign aims to achieve three main goals: bring affordability to your local favourites, raise money and awareness for local causes and organizations, and support our local economy by boosting local business.
We recently partnered with Nourish Cowichan, an incredible organization in the Cowichan Valley tackling food insecurity among students. Together, in a one-day event, we were able to raise $8,000 for Nourish Cowichan. Farmer Ben’s Eggs was our first Home Grown Local partner and have been a great local business to work with. This week, we have an incredible deal on Farmer Ben’s 30-Pack Eggs for only $9.99. This is the kind of affordability we strive to bring our community on a regular basis.
Come check out FARMLANDIA at Rifflandia this year! We have partnered with Courtnall Society in Oak Bay, a local mental health organization, to raise money for September’s suicide awareness month. All proceeds from our FARMLANDIA merch (shirts, hats, guitar picks, stickers, etc) go to mental health organizations like Courtnall Society. Stay tuned for more and look out for in-store posters for more information on our FARMLANDIA campaign.
Thank you to our wonderful customers for supporting our Home Grown Local campaigns and being a part of doing good in our
communities.
