John A. Malowany of Wainfleet, passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the age of 81 years. Loving husband of the late Elaine (nee Mittlestead), dear dad of Marybeth (Michael) Benner, and Anthony (Wendy) Malowany, loving grandfather of Cassaundra Frey (Jason), Caroline Benner (John), James, Rachel and Natalie Mills and his greatgrandchildren Miranda, Dylan, and Savannah Frey and John and Sage King. He is survived by his brother Joseph, his sisters-in-law, Nancy, Celia and Kathy and his brothers-in-law, Ken, Hank and Bryan. John was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Siami Malowany; his brother, Swan; his sisters-in-law, Ethel, Lily, Lillian, Mary, Sharon, Lila and Linda; and his brothers-in-law, Pat, Mike, Robert, Bruce and John. He will be dearly missed by his dear friend, Marion

Perry and his cousins, Leslie Balinski and Henry Rasinan. John was a lifetime resident of Wainfleet. He worked as a commercial electrician for Commercial Electric and Innophus. He also supported Elaine in her ventures as the founder of Marshville Chocolates in Wainfleet. As an avid gardener, he enjoyed working on his farm and could often be found tinkering with and fixing things. John loved dancing and socializing with his many friends at Opry Niagara and other venues. If there was a good dinner and a dance, there was a good chance John would be there! We will all miss Dad's sense of humour and his laugh. The Malowany family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ayoob, and the nursing staff on the third floor of the Dunnville War Memorial Hospital. John's family will receive visitors at the Davidson Funeral Home, 135 Clarence St., Port Colborne, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10 - 11 a.m., when a funeral service will be held in the chapel. Burial to follow at Overholt Cemetery. Memorial remembrances to the Dunnville War Memorial Hospital (CT Scanner Fundraiser) would be appreciated by the family.
