SCIBIK, Janina (nee Mocniak)
Passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, at Valley Park Lodge on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late George (2000). Loving mother of Wanda (Robert) Brunet, Christine (Andrew) Evans, and Donna (Matt) Collee. Cherished grandmother of Tracy Cole, Michael (Mindy) Brunet, Nicole (Jim) Rees, Hayley Evans (L. Schurtz), Eric Evans (Samantha Brousseau), Samantha (Matt) Gilson, Kendall (Thanh) Tran and cherished greatgrandmother of Keara Brunet, Joshua Brunet, Miley Brunet, Jordan Rees, Ryan Rees, Hayden Tran, Hudson Tran, Max Gilson and Maddie Gilson.
She is survived by her brother Wally (Jeannie) Mocniak as well as many nieces and nephews and family in Poland and Germany. She is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Mocniak and brother Eddy (Winnie) Mocniak. As an entrepreneur, Janina owned and operated 'The Cameo' Beauty Shop for many years and then went on to work as a cook at Betty's Restaurant until her retirement. She will always be remembered as a fabulous baker and baked incredible pies, wedding and birthday cakes. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 2 to 4 p/m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Janina, memorial contributions may be made to Project Share and would be appreciated.
