Concerts

• Island Jazz Thursdays at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottet­own on June 6 features Rob Oakie performing his original compositio­ns written over the past 30 years. Oakie will be on mandolin and mandocello, with Laura Oakie on keys and Tian Wigmore on guitar and with Dan Rowswell sitting in for a few tunes. Two sets start at 8 p.m. Admission is by donation with a $10 minimum.

• The members of the Eptek Centre Book Club will meet June 6, 7 p.m., to discuss “The Golden Boy: A Doctor’s Journey with Addiction” by Grant Matheson. This memoir takes the reader from the first day of Matheson’s drug addiction to the moment when he decided to rebuild his life through rehab and recovery. Workshops

• The River Clyde Pageant (July 25-28 and Aug. 1-4) will be hosting The Bee, a workshop that combines art-making and storytelli­ng. • Eptek Art & Culture Centre is showing the summer exhibit, As the Crow Flies, in the main gallery starting June 14. This is a collection of artworks featuring and inspired by crows and a crow’s eye view. This group exhibit has been curated in collaborat­ion with the Lady Slipper Rug Hooking Guild and features work by more than 50 Island artists in a wide range of mediums, including oil, watercolou­r, wooden sculpture, weaving and quilting, traditiona­l quill work and rug hooking. • The grounds and trails at Skmaqn—port-la-joye—fort Amherst National Historic Site are open for visitors to explore. The day use washrooms will be open seven days a week beginning June
