AUSSIES IN ACTION TODAY

-

Australia’s 3x3 basketball side have had some positive results, and play their final group match against hosts France tonight. Could they make a run to the knockout stages and a medal in Australia’s first-ever appearance in the sport?

A race where strategy is key, the mixed medley relay is a fascinating race. With two women and two men split across the different strokes, how will the Aussies line-up and can they chase the Americans down?

After winning his first bout, Charlie Senior is slated to take on Carlo Paalam from the Philippines, and with one more win, the Aussie will be guaranteed a medal. He had a 4-1 victory in his opening bout, but this will be tougher.

It hasn’t been the best meet from Sam Short but he can put that all behind him in the 1500m freestyle. The heats are on this morning and if he can grab one of the middle lanes, he could have every chance of a medal.

Aislin Jones is back for her second Olympics after being Australia’s youngest shooter in Rio. She’ll compete in qualification for the women’s skeet shooting and as one of the top 50 shooters, anything could happen.

Qualified as Australia’s fastest swimmer in the 50m freestyle, Meg Harris is already an Olympic gold medallist from the relays but can add individual glory. She can set the tempo in heats and semi-finals today.

Australian trio Jayden Brown, William Matthew, Simone Pearce will be in action for the dressage team grand prix special this morning at the picturesque Palace of Versailles, with medals up for grabs.
