Timeless summer lifestyle

This Hamptons-inspired property at popular Palm Beach offers luxury beachfront living featuring a large family home with incredible views

Sand, sea, and an endless summer beckon in an absolute beachfront home that’s just come to market in one of the Gold Coast’s most sought-after suburbs. Located in a tightly held precinct of Palm Beach, 175 Jefferson Lane is within metres of the surf, and features views of the Pacific Ocean, with Coolangatta to the south and the skyline of Surfers Paradise to the north.

Long-time Gold Coast locals Tegan and Adam Francis bought the property in 2019 after returning from the US and embarking on a search for the ultimate beach house.

“We had a wish list of what we wanted and Tegan literally walked the Palm Beach area in search of the right property,” Mr Francis said. “She saw this one and it ticked all the boxes, and luckily we convinced the owner to sell.”

Set over four levels, the Hamptonsinspired home includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a home cinema, games room, dedicated office, multiple outdoor entertaining areas, and views of the beach from every possible vantage point.

“It’s modern yet timeless, is filled with light and there’s plenty of space for everyone,” Ms Francis said.

Beneath, is a large basement that accommodates up to five cars and also includes a gym and wine cellar.

Meanwhile, a heated plunge pool offers the perfect place to rinse off after a surf, and the flat grassed yard is all that stands between the home and the dunes.

“It’s a dream house just steps from the sand and it offers a very easy lifestyle,” Mrs Francis said.

“On a beautiful day you can open the house right up, there’s always something to watch and it faces due east, taking in the most incredible views.”

Mr and Ms Francis said the true highlight of the property was the beachfront lifestyle it offered.

“We have two teen boys who are avid surfers, and I can be in the kitchen preparing them food while still watching them in the waves,” Ms Francis said.

“Whether it’s Christmas Day or general entertaining, it’s the place that family and friends come to and some of our best memories involve sharing this house with people,” she said.

The property listing describes the home as a “benchmark for absolute beachfront luxury”, and Mr Francis noted it offered a rare opportunity to secure a large family home in a premium Palm Beach location.

“It has ample space, with different ways to use that space in a property where the architect did really well in making the main focal point the beach,” Mr Francis said.

“It’s a home that has everything you need and the basement is a real plus as it’s incredibly hard to get the space to build a basement of that size and quality.”

With the Francis family now dividing their time between the US and Australia due to business interests, they have reluctantly made the tough decision to sell their beachfront trophy home.

“It’s bittersweet to sell, but it’s a big, beautiful home that shouldn’t sit empty,” Mr Francis said.

“It’s time for the next family to start their chapter here and we’d like to think they will love it as much as we have.”

The Palm Beach property is listed with Troy Dowker of Kollosche and will go to auction on March 28.
