Ellinbank maintained its unbeaten status in the reserves as the top teams scored big wins to further consolidat­e their positions in the top five.

Assisted by senior player Shaun Phelan dropping back to boot three goals, the Eagles simply handled the slippery conditions better than Longwarry to win 22-9 (141) to 1-1 (7).

A classy checkside finish from the pocket from Jack Champion after he had brought the ball to ground in driving rain, along with a smart pass from Phelan to Jaxon Notman for a juggling mark demonstrat­ed the exceptiona­l skill.

Notman finished with five goals and Mark Quigley four majors as the Eagles kicked a big score.

Ashley Scott, Jack Cole, Thomas Jessup, Tony Wright and Jacob Walker were also prominent.
