BIRCHY & KINGA RIDE WITH LEATT

-

Leading international riding gear and protective wear brand Leatt is making a big push into the adventure bike market and has recently unveiled a new three-model line-up of dedicated ADV riding gear.

And they’re not hanging about when it comes to promoting the new gear, signing up two new Leatt ADV ambassadors, both of whom have rather significant international profiles.

Legendary Kiwi off-roader Chris Birch needs no introduction to the ADV world and will be representing Leatt globally.

“I have been using Leatt protective products for many years but I am happy the time has come to partner with the team head-to-toe,” said Birchy.

“I look forward to my time in the Leatt family, being involved in exciting projects and working closely with the product developers of future products.”

Leatt released news of its brand-new adventure range at the huge EICMA show in Europe late last year. While Leatt is known for its off-road products, all Leatt adventure apparel is Class AA rated, making it suitable for riders who prefer tarmac to dirt. The South African brand assures, however, that the product is still adventure-seeking at heart, designed to meet the demands of the most adventurous gravel seeking rider.

“Straight away I feel at home in the Leatt adventure gear,” explains Birch. “It is strong, safe and comfortable. Living in New Zealand, we need gear that can adapt — and this multi-functional gear inspires confidence to go ride when you don’t quite know what is out there or what might happen”

Joining Birch in the Leatt family is world traveller and adventure rider Kinga Tanajewska, who posts on Instagram with the handle @onherbike.

Kinga was born in Poland, moved to Australia, but for the past seven years has been travelling around the world: “So I feel like I am from everywhere!” she laughs.

Kinga has ridden over 160,000km across five continents, has been a long-standing ambassador for Leatt and has always worn the brand’s neck brace. Now she will be wearing the full range of Leatt ADV gear.

“I bought my first adventure motorcycle in 2013, just before my solo ride around Australia,” Kinga explains. “I realised if I want to really get to know this country, I need to go off-road. In 2024 my plan is to ride through South America — and after that, we’ll see. My trusty BMW F 850 GS — ‘Chillie’ — has been with me from the beginning of my world journey. She’s reliable, easy to maintain and still in great shape, so there’s plenty of riding ahead of us.

“Travelling around the world, I have ridden over almost every type of terrain. I think my favourite must be deserts, mountains and forests. The more remote the better!” www.leattmoto.com.au
